Materials & care
What are ALOY bags made from?
Every piece is cut from water-resistant premium textile, with full-grain cognac leather pulls, solid-brass hardware, and a wipe-clean interior lining. We do not use vegan leather. The brass develops a patina over time — it is supposed to.
How should I care for the leather pulls?
Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth as needed. Condition the leather pulls twice a year with a neutral leather cream — nothing dyed, nothing perfumed. They’ll deepen with use; that’s the goal.
Are the bags water-resistant or waterproof?
Water-resistant. Light rain, spills, and travel weather are fine. Don't submerge them.
Shipping & returns
Where do you ship from?
Our facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. We hand-pack each order. Most orders ship within one business day.
How long does shipping take?
Most U.S. standard orders arrive within 3–5 business days after shipment. Expedited and overnight options are available at checkout if you need it sooner.
Do you ship internationally?
U.S.-only at launch. International availability is on our roadmap — join the newsletter for first access.
What’s your return policy?
30 days on unused, unworn items with original tags and packaging. Email returns@aloytravel.com with your order number and we’ll send a prepaid return label within one business day. Full policy here.
Sizing & fit
Will my suits fit in The Director?
Yes. The Director is sized for standard men’s and women’s suits up to size 46/16. Folded dimensions are roughly 22" × 14" × 4"; hanging length is 52". It's bin-friendly on every major U.S. carrier.
Is The Companion TSA-compliant?
The bag itself is TSA-friendly proportions. The liquids inside are still subject to the 3-1-1 rule — we can’t help you with that part.
Brand & buying
Who makes ALOY bags?
We work directly with a small workshop in Guangzhou, China, where our maker Mark has been making bags for twenty-one years. Designed in Charlotte, hand-finished in Guangzhou.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Not yet. It's on the roadmap — if you'd like a personal note included with a gift order, mention it in the order notes at checkout and we'll write one by hand.
What does the name ALOY mean?
ALOY is a dedication to Aloysius. It’s a personal name, given as a brand name — a reminder that the journey, and how you take it, matters.
